OSPAC confirms abduction of ex council CSO in Rivers community

Brave Dickson

A local vigilante group, OSPAC in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, has confirmed the abduction of a former Chief Security Officer of the LGA, Goodstar Silk by unknown gunmen.

The incident was said to have happened at about 9pm while the victim was on his way to his residence in Omoku, the traditional headquarters of the LGA.

Speaking with our correspondent, the Secretary-General of OSPAC, Gift Ohia said yes the “former CSO of the LGA has been kidnapped.

“Few minutes after his abduction, we received the information and detailed our men to block all the exit and entry points of Omoku, yet we couldn’t intercept the kidnappers.

“We suspected that either the kidnappers changed vehicle or as of the time we blocked the exit and entry points of Omoku, they had succeeded in taken their victim out of Omoku.”

OSPAC also hinted that the kidnappers had established contacts with the family of the victim but the ransom they were asking for was too outrageous.

The vigilante group further urged the people of the LGA not to allow the kidnap incident to stop them from freely carrying out their legitimate businesses, insisting that the LGA is safe.
