Rivers United left-back Ebube Duru has expressed his delight after earning his Nigeria senior national team call-up.

Duru was included in Super Eagles manager Joeé Santos Peseiro’s squad for their forthcoming International friendly against Algeria in the international break and he says it’s a thing of joy for him as a person.

“It’s a thing of joy playing with the main Super Eagles. It’s the main desire of every NPFL player to play not just in the home-based but to play in the main Super Eagles, so I’m very excited and so happy that I have the opportunity to play with the foreign-based players, get to know most of them and interact with them. This is a big morale booster for me and I am so excited”
Ebube Duru has featured for the Super Eagles B (CHAN) team and has impressed while playing at left-back for the Pride of Rivers.

Three-time African Champions Nigeria trade tackles with the 2019 AFCON kings in Oran on Tuesday, September 27.

The coach Jose Peseiro-led team had their first training in Constantine on Tuesday ahead of the friendly with the Desert Foxes.

The Eagles will be looking for a first win against the Algerians since 2016.

The North Africans have emerged victorious against Nigeria in their last three meetings.
