Insecurity: Gunmen kidnap Delta LG vice chairman

The Police in Delta State has confirmed the abduction of the Vice Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Frank Esiwo Ozue by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Sunday at Ogor town in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the State.

The victim, who was reportedly travelling alone was said to have been waylaid by the gunmen, who whisked him into another vehicle to an unknown location.

Confirming the incident to journalists in Warri on Monday, a family source disclosed that he was travelling to Patani area when he was forcefully stopped by the gunmen along Iwhre-Ovie/Oviri-Ogor Road off the Ughelli/Evwreni section of the East-West Road.

The abductors were said to have left behind the victim’s car and phones, and were yet to contact the family for ransom or his whereabouts as of the time of filing this report.

The Delta State Police Command spokesperson, Edafe Bright, who confirmed the incident said the police were working to rescue the victim.
