Rivers NSCDC boss tasks promoted officers to jusify ranks

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Rivers State Command has tasked its newly promoted officers to justify their new ranks in discharging their duties.

Performing the ceremony where 67 newly promoted senior officers were decorated at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Port Harcourt on Monday, Commandant Micheal Ogar charged the beneficiaries of the 2021 Promotions to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity, truthfulness, loyalty and dedication.

He said, “It is apparent that promotion in the NSCDC is based on availability of vacancies, hardwork, diligence and commitment to duty. It behoves you to justify your new ranks by accepting responsibilities as they come; this is because the reward for hard work is more work hence, as you take up your new assignments in consonance with your promotion ranks; you must be committed to the mandate of the Corps in safeguarding all critical national assets and infrastructure, disaster management, registration, training, supervision and monitoring of private guard companies amongst others”.

“Let me also intimate those officers who are yet to be promoted that their time will definitely come because the Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi PhD, mni. led administration is fully committed to the overall welfare of the officers and men.”

The Command boss also expressed gratitude on the massive turnout of the Security Service Commanders in the State including the Nigerian Army, the Nigerian Navy, Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC), Department of State Security Service (DSS) among others.

He noted that such unalloyed synergy would enhance the capacity of the Security architecture of the State for a better Service delivery most especially in combating the spate of Oil theft, illegal dealings in petroleum products, cultism, kidnapping, banditry and other vices.

The Garrison Commander, 6 Division Nigerian Army Port Harcourt, Brigadier General SS Tilawan, who spoke on behalf of all Service Commanders congratulated all the newly promoted officers affirming that “to who much is given much is expected”.

He further relayed that prompt intelligence gathering remains the bedrock of Security and to achieve the mandate of every security outfit the operatives must shun Inter-Agency rivalries and embrace peaceful coexistence and effective collaborations.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, ACC Yahaya Ibrahim lauded the command for the all inclusive welfare program and reiterated the commitment of the newly promoted officers to carrying out their assigned duties with utmost integrity in service delivery.
