In his tribute, Amaechi described the late Graham Douglas as the best Rivers man who helped him when he (Amaechi) was governor of the state.

“The late Graham Douglas we have gathered here today to pay our last respect to, was a good man which I will consider as the best Rivers man.

“He helped Rufus Ada-George to become governor of the state and he helped me too when I was governor of this state.

“It is unfortunate to hear that the current state government did not sponsor the burial of late Graham Douglas,” he said.

In their separate tributes, the Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri and the President of the Ijaw National Congress. Prof. Benjamin Okaba said the history of Ijaw development in the 21st Century can not be completed without mentioning the name of the late Graham Douglas.
