Just In: Magnus Abe dumps APC, joins SDP

A former Senator representing Rivers South-East in the national assembly, Magnus Abe has joined Social Democratic Party.

Abe disclosed this on Friday, saying “Yes I am and I have been a member of the social Democratic Party SDP.

“I remain irrevocably committed to the ideals that have driven my politics through the years.

“We will continue to do all we can to improve internal democracy in the politics of our country and focus on the people”

The former gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in the 2019 general election dumped the APC following a lingering crisis in the party.

His political disagreement with his long term ally and former Minister of Transportation , Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi led to the party being disqualified from fielding candidates in 2019.

Abe last week doubted the possibility of the All Progressives Congress to win the 2023 gubernatorial election in Rivers State, adding that he had since left the party.
