Nigerian athlete Ese brume wins silver in long jump at the World Athletics Championship

Nigerian athlete, Ese Brume has been awarded a silver medal in the women’s long jump after coming second place behind Germany’s athlete Malaika Mihambo at the World Athletics Championship in Eugene, Oregon.

She achieved this feat after a jump of 7.02m. While her German counterpart Malaika Mihambo, beat her to Gold with a final leap of 7.12m.

Ese’s performance at the World Athletic championship has been seen as an improvement for her, when compared to her last performance. Which earned her a bronze medal at the last world Athletic championship.

This was the second time Mihambo also beat Brume to gold and the first was at the Tokyo Olympics.

Coming in third place was Brazil’s athlete Leticia Oro Melo Who won the bronze medal with a 6.89m jump.

Brume’s podium finish came within minutes after Tobi Amusan won the maiden World Championship gold for Nigeria in the 100m hurdles.

And the world record holder joined in on the celebration with her Team Nigeria comrade.
