Tina Amanda

A Federal High court sitting in Port Harcourt has adjourned to 25 July , 2022 on the suit filled by Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State seeking the nullification of the primaries of the National Assembly Candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the state.

Our Correspondent reports that when the case was mentioned in court, counsel to parties asked the court for more time to enable them regularize their documents.

The PDP is claiming that the APC in the state conducted their delegate congress and primaries of the national Assembly on the 18 and 19 May, 2022 respectively.

They claimed that the APC held their National Assembly Primaries on the 19 May, 2022 contrary to INEC’s electoral guideline and wants the court to nullify the processes which will leave the APC in Rivers without National Assembly candidates.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Stephen Daylop-Pam after hearing from counsels adjourned the case to 25 July, 2022, for all counsel to file and respond to motions.
