NNL: Go Round FC ready for Bayelsa United

Desmond Iwuchukwu

Go Round FC have rounded up intensive training for their game on Sunday against Bayelsa United.

The team spent the last few days training at the practice pitch of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Omagwa, in preparation for the tie.

Coach of the side, Ngozi Elechi said before their final session on Friday that relocating from Omoku to Omagwa ahead of the game was very strategic.

“Our pitch at Omoku has a natural grass surface while the one in Yenagoa where Bayelsa United play is artificial.

“We do not want to be taken unawares and that is why we moved to Omagwa to prepare for the tie,” Elechi said.

He thanked the management of the club for granting their request to move away from their home and also the Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Sports Ministry, Honour Sirawoo for approving their use of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.

Meanwhile, the founder and financier of the club, Felix Obuah has charged the boys to go for broke in the encounter against Bayelsa United.

Go Round FC is still in contention for promotion to the 1st tier Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL and a result at Yenagoa will brighten their chances of finishing top of the group.

“The results have been good so far, but you must do more and get a result at Bayelsa on Sunday,” Obuah said as the team rounded up their training.

“You have won away from home this season and nothing stops you all from doing it again, so go out there and excel, then return with a result,” he charged them.

Ahead of their departure to Bayelsa, the players received all eight outstanding match bonuses owed to them with a promise of more incentives if they get a result.

Go Round FC is currently 3rd on the Nigeria National League, NNL log with 24 points from 14 games. Crown FC is in 2nd place with 25 points from 15 games while Rovers top the table with 26 points from 15 games.
