2023: Amaechi has made sacrifices for APC – El-Rufai

Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has disclosed that the minister of Transport, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi is a valuable asset to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and can be trusted at all times.

Rufai, who spoke at Amaechi’s consultative meeting with APC delegates from Kaduna on Sunday, stated that the presidential hopeful is loved by Buhari after successfully defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to APC during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

The governor, while narrating his relationship with the transport minister, said, “Let me tell you my history with Amaechi. When we started discussing with the G-7, the seven governors that wanted to defect to the APC, I was holding nocturnal meetings with Amaechi and Governor Nyako of Adamawa State until we got five of them to move to our party, and that was the game-changer.

“And for you to understand how difficult it is, imagine Amaechi of Rivers State from the same South-South with incumbent President Jonathan.

“He made the sacrifice to move to our party. It was a game-changer. This is part of the reason President Buhari loves Minister Amaechi till tomorrow.”

He further explained that disclosed that Amaechi while a sitting governor helped to sponsor the CPC national convention when the party had no money to organise it.

“In fact, when I was invited by the Directorate of Security Services (DSS) Amaechi as a governor came down to Abuja and personally drove me in his car to their office and waited until I was let go. He is my favourite Nigerian,” he stressed.

El-Rufai warned the delegates to be careful with their votes, urging them to vote for someone who can be trusted and keeps to his words at all times.
