A Rivers High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has remanded the governorship candidate of the People’ls Democratic Party, PDP in Farah Dagogo at the Port Harcourt correctional centre.
Our correspondent reports that the House of Representatives Member representing Degema-Bonny Federal Constituency was brought to the court premises in a vegetable state, as he was seen carried by four police officers, while journalists were barred from entering into the court room for the proceedings.
Recall that yesterday, Dagogo was granted bail by the Federal High Court which also restrained the commissioner of police, and others from interfering in his fundamental human right.
Farah was brought to the High Court despite the fact that he was due to appear at the same High Court presided over by Justice Chinwendu Nwogu on 16 May, 2022, to take his plea.
He could not take his plea due to his Ill health
The Presiding Judge, Justice Chinwendu Nwogu, adjourned to 16 May, 2022, and remanded Farah Dagogo in prison custody.
Counsel to State Prosecution, Chidi Ekeh, explained that the Federal high court do not have right to try a case against the state, stating that the state is not aware of the bail granted to Farah at the Federal High Court.
Also, Farah Dagogo’s personal Physician, Doctor Kenneth who spoke to journalists described the state of health of his client as critical.
