‘Dagogo is sick, still in hospital’, lawyer tells judge

Tina Amanda

For the second time, the case between Rivers State and the Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, Farah Dagogo, has been stalled at a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, for failure to produce the Defendant in court.

Police had on Monday failed to produce the lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency before a magistrate sitting in Port Harcourt on a day set for his bail hearing.

Today’s court sitting which is slated for plea taking could also not go on due to the absence of the defendant in court.

Our correspondent reports that when the matter was mentioned for the first time at the High Court, the Counsel representing Farah Dagogo informed the court that his client is sick and undergoing medical attention.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Chiwendu Nwogu, after listening to Counsels in the matter adjourned the case to 16 May 2022, for plea taking.

In an interview the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Rivers State, Professor Zacheaus Adangor SAN, said at the next adjourned date Defendant will be formally arraigned and take his plea whether he is guilty or not guilty.
