Northeners in Rivers State have urged Governor Nyesom Wike to stop displacing them from the places they do businesses in the state.

The Northerners under the aegis of the Northern Peace Ambassadors Initiative, Rivers State said the governor had been using one flimsy reason or the other to demolish where Northerners predominately do business in the state.

The Secretary of the Northern group, Ali Abdullahi told our correspondent that a lot of Northeners in the state had been forced out of business under the current Wike-led-administration.

The secretary said, “Within these two terms of Wike’s government, we have been driven out of Oil Mill Market, Trans-Amadi Slaughter Market, the market between Ahoada and Bayelsa and many others.

“In Kano State, over 90 percent of the residents are Northerners and Muslims, yet, the government treats the Southern Christians fairly.

“In Sabon Gari areas of Kano, some ward councillors are Southern Christians.

“In the cabinet of every Kano State government, you will find one special assistant or commissioner from the Southern Christian population unlike Rivers

“Wike should understand that the North he goes to, for election support; our brothers over there are asking us how are we doing in Rivers.”

The Northerners however scored Wike high in his fight against insecurity, adding that Rivers State has some relative peace.
