Cross River APC slashes nomination forms by 50% for youths, free for women

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State has said it will give serious attention to young people aspiring to take up leadership positions in the 2023 general elections.

It also assured that the nomination forms of the party will be slashed for youths in the State to enable them participate in the elections, adding that young females would receive the form for free.

Speaking during an interview in Calabar, the Chairman of the party in the state, Alphonsus Eba said the party has slashed the cost of its nomination form by 50% down to N25m only for those below 40 aspiring to govern the state.

“Our party is for young people. It is a party for new the generation of servant-leaders. Governor Benedict Ayade has brought an army of young men, that will take over leadership positions from him,” the party Chairman said.

Continuing, he said, “In our own party, we are giving contestants 50% discount, that is to young people under age 40. So if you are a young person below 40 years, the price of forms for you is 25 million for governorship, for young people who are females, our form is free.”

Eba said the party made the resolution during its NEC meeting and urged younger Cross Riverians to take advantage of the opportunity in preparation for next year’s election.
