A group, coalition of Past and Present student leaders in Rivers, has called on students to boycott the thanksgiving service of the All Progressives Congress scheduled to hold on Saturday.
Briefing journalists after a meeting on Thursday, Comr. Owhokire Rhino who spoke on behalf of the group faulted the Transport Minister, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, for organising a thanksgiving service even after students died in the Kaduna train attack.
He noted that the Minister, being a former student leader should know he ought not to hold the service at a time when Nigerians were still those who lost their lives in the attack.
He called on Rivers people and concerned citizens to boycott the Congress, planned for Saturday, noting that they will continue to speak the truth till the right thing is done.
Recall that Dr Chinelo Megafu, an ex-student of the University of Port Harcourt died alongside other passengers in the Kaduna-Abuja bound train that was attacked by terrorists a week ago.
