The National Association of Primary Health Care Workers of Nigeria has urged the Rivers State Government to resolve all outstanding issues with workers in the state or face court action.
Speaking with new men on Wednesday, the Chairman of the association, Barr, Daniel Atiemie said a 21-day ultimatum has been issued to the Rivers State government to do the right thing.
He said after the state government had pleaded with the union to withdraw a suit against her from the industrial court over the non-payment of its workers, nothing has been done.
Atiemie explained that the Rivers State government owed its health care workers a decade old payment among other payments, including the refusal to pay the new national minimum wage.
He said other issues include the non-payment of consolidated salary structure to primary health care workers in the State, and the failure of the State government to obey her law directing the transfer of salaries of health workers to the government’s care.
The chairman called on the Rivers State government to address the issues, which he said affect the legitimate Rights of Primary Health Care Workers in the state.
