Youths of Ogoni extraction in Rivers State have urged the Senator who represented the Rivers South-East at the 8th National Assembly, Magnus Abe to put politics aside and congratulate Victor Giadom on his emergence as APC Vice Chairman, South-South.
Speaking with our correspondent, the President of the National Youth Council of Ogoni People, NYCOP, Matthew Diighi said, “Abe should always remember that Giadom is his tribal brother which is above politics.
“Though, they may have some political differences but that shouldn’t make anyone not to publicly celebrate each other when lifting comes.
“Politics will end one day and they will all return home. So, there is no need of allowing politics to deny them of their ethnic brotherhood.
“Giadom has emerged today at the national level of APC, it should be a thing of joy to all Ogonis.
“Ogonis should not allow politics to divide them to an extent that a kinsman’s lifting means nothing to his Ogoni brother.”
Abe’s perceived refusal to congratulate Giadom who is of same political party with him may not have been unconnected with Giadom’s loyalty to the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi who had politically fell apart with Abe.
