Presidential hopeful, Dele Momodu has that the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike’s declaration of interest to join the presidential race in the forthcoming 2023 elections will bring excitement to the race.
Governor Wike had on Sunday in Makurdi, Benue state after a meeting with PDP stakeholders, declared his intention to run for the presidency under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike said he has all it takes to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to emerge winner at the polls.
Reacting to the announcement, Dele Momodu, on his Twitter handle, said Wike’s declaration will bring robustness and excitement to the race.
According to him, “I’m happy to welcome my very dear friend and brother, Governor Nyesom Wike into the presidential race. His declaration will certainly bring some robustness and excitement to the race that has largely thrown up four Northern aspirants and two Southern aspirants who have bought their forms.
“With Wike in the race, we now have former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar (Adamawa, North East), Governor Bala Mohammed (Bauchi, North East), Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal (Sokoto, North West).
“Former Governor/Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki (Kwara, North Central), Former Senate President/Secretary to Federal Government, Ayim Pius Ayim (Ebonyi, South East), Publisher/Journalist Chief Dele Momodu (Edo, South-South and Osun, South West).
“Former Governor, Mr Peter Obi (Anambra, South East) was also reported to have joined the race but not sure he’s bought the form yet. Interesting weeks ahead.”
