Bandits block plane from taking off from Kaduna airport

There was tension at the Kaduna International Airport on Saturday as bandits prevented a Lagos bound Azman flight from taking off.

The bandits said to be heavily armed also shot dead a security guard of the Airport Management at the airport identified as Mr Na Allah.

Recall that last year, bandits attacked the airport’s quarters,kidnapping two families.

A source said that the AZMAN aircraft could not take off at about 12.30pm because of the presence of the bandits at the airport’s runways.

The source, however added that the military intervened and chased the bandits away before the plane could take off, adding that the presence of the bandits cause stampede at the airport.

The source said more than 10 trucks of the military are at the airport presently for reinforcement.
