Group purchases PDP Governorship form for Farah Dagogo

Few days after signifying interest to contest for the Governorship seat of Rivers State, a group, the Youth Mandate, has purchased the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, gubernatorial form for Hon. Doctor Farah Dagogo, a member House of Representatives representing Degema/Bonny federal constituency.

The Group said they obtained the PDP’s Governorship Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for Farah Dagogo because of ‘his uncommon love for the youths, boldness and courage to speak truth to power and uncanny proven ability to govern at the highest level’.

Coordinator of the group in the South- South, Comrade Zebulon Timi said while others, from both the All Progressives Congress, APC, and PDP, are waiting for endorsements from those who believe they have stranglehold over the affairs of Rivers people’ and with just few months to the general elections, Farah Dagogo has blazed a trail by presenting himself for the highest office in the state.’

“In Rivers State of today, where all the major political actors are waiting for one endorsement or the other from those who believe they have stranglehold over the affairs of Rivers people, it is a breath of fresh air that a part of our younger population, who is not waiting for any endorsement, in the person of Hon. Farah Dagogo has blazed a trail by presenting himself for the highest office in the state, the Governorship of Rivers State.

“We purchased these forms for him, because of his push for a fairer and egalitarian society. He is young with uncommon love for the youths, bold and courageous. He is not afraid to speak truth to power. He is also an advocate of constructive criticisms because he believes no one is an island. At the House of Representatives, he is pushing the Youth Entrepreneurship Development Trust Fund bill, a proposed law that will set aside five per cent of the country’s capital estimates in the Appropriation Act of every year which shall be used to provide financial support to Nigerian Youths with entrepreneurship skills. This is the first of its kind for Youths in Nigeria”.

The Group further expressed happiness that Farah Dagogo is prepared and determined to lead the charge to rebuild, reunite and reposition Rivers State.

“We, therefore, call on people of goodwill to rise to this unprecedented challenge and, lets join hands together to ensure that Farah Dagogo wins the primary of the PDP and ultimately becomes the Governor of Rivers State,” the group noted.

The group later handed the forms to the legislative aides of the Federal Lawmaker for onward transmission.
