The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, AHMED ABUBARKA-AUDI, says he has set up a committee to investigate the fire incident that destroyed all exhibits at the NSCDC yard in Iriebe, Obio-Akpo Local Goverment Area of Rivers State.

The Commandant General of NSCDC who stated this while inspecting the level of damage done at the Command exhibit site at Iriebe with his team of high ranking officers and other security agencies, said it is disheartening and sad at which the inferno razed the exhibit yard.

He assured Nigerians that the report and findings from the committee set up to investigate the fire incident will be communicated to the general public and those found wanting will be made to face the law.

He assured residents of the community that the command will provide adequate security, take more decisive measures to protect the exhibit yard and its environs.

The NSCDC Boss, however, warned those involved in illegal crude oil refining activities in the Niger Delta Region to stop or face the law.

Also, while briefing officers of the Rivers state NSCDC command headquarters, the Commandant General warned the officers that under his watch he will not tolerate or condone any act of indiscipline and greed.

Earlier, the Rivers State Commandant, Abu Tambuwal, had said the command will leave no stone unturned to arrest and prosecute all those involved in the inferno that gutted the NSCDC exhibit site.

Tambuwal who made the assertion while briefing newsmen on the development so far, said the situation is under full control as an intensive investigation is ongoing to ensure everyone involved in the crime is apprehended.

According to him, the actions of the saboteurs was to frustrate the efforts put in place to secure critical national assets and the fight against oil bunkering activities in the state.

The Commandant, however, reiterated that the command will not be deterred in its fight against illegal refineries based on the actions of the saboteurs while calling on the people of Iriebe to avail the command with useful information that will expedite the ongoing investigation.

He also said the command has arrested Five Suspects following the mysterious Fire that razed Its exhibit Yard.
