Police arrest suspects over killing of Army officer in Delta

An Operations Officer of the 3 Battalion of the Nigerian Army identified as Lieutenant Musa Yusuf have been shot dead by gunmen in Warri, Delta State.

It was learnt that the military officer was killed by yet-to-be-identified gunmen in the late hours of Friday, at Enerhen Road, Effurun.

He was said to be driving in a private vehicle when the unknown gunmen struck and shoot him at close range.

It was also gathered that the deceased has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

Confirming the incident, the spoksperson of the State Police Command, Bright Edafe, told newsmen on Tuesday that some suspects have been arrested in connection with the murder.

Edafe assured that anyone found guilty prosecuted according to the law.
