Breaking: ASUU extends strike by 2 months

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has resolved to extend its warning strike by another 8 weeks.

The union reached the decision during its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja, on Sunday night.

ASUU had scheduled an emergency NEC meeting to decide on the next line of action following the expiration of its four-week industrial action.

Although the union has not made any public statement regarding the outcome of the meeting which had in attendance its principal officers, a source told Vanguard that members resolved at the meeting held in an undisclosed location that the industrial action is extended for two more months.
