A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State, Bethel Oko-Jaja has called on the National leadership of the party to call the Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to order.
Oko-Jaja, who is the leader of the APC faction loyal to Senator Magnus Abe in Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area urged the national leadership to remind the Minister that the party is not his “personal company.”
Reacting to claims by two members of the party that he had invited them to a meeting with the Rivers PDP chairman, Desmond Akawor, Oko-Jaja, in a press briefing in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, called on the state commissioner of Police, Eboka Friday to launch an investigation into the matter.
According to him, “The purported and stage-managed press conference by these faceless individuals and political desperados, is nothing but a reflection of the frustration of APC Rivers leadership, by the midnight Crew that has clearly been bedevilled by the spirit of Ichabod”
He explained that he had never met the men in his life and accused the members of the Amaechi faction of the APC of being behind the allegation.
Oko-Jaja said the men, who identified themselves as Tonte Amachree of Asari-Toru APC Ward 7, and Kelvin Obulo of Opobo-Nkoro APC Ward 4, were acting on the orders of Chibuike Amaechi to defame him and others mentioned by the duo.
The APC leader also claimed the allegation was staged to pitch Abe against the National leadership of the party.
He maintained that the rift between the Amaechi- Abe factions of the Rivers APC cannot be “solved by this underhand method of the Minister of Transportation and his crew.”
