Middle-aged man commits suicide in Port Harcourt

A young man identified as Justice, who is a member of Tipper Drivers Association of Nigeria, Eagle Island branch has been found dead with a rope tied to his neck and hung on a tree, behind Octopus Sandfill jetty, Eagle Island, Port Harcourt.

His lifeless body was discovered on Sunday, February 20th.

Upon visit to the scene of incident, our correspondent found out that Members of the Association where holding an emergency meeting over the tragedy.

The South-South Zonal Chairman of the Association, Prince Barifodum confirmed receiving the report of the death of her member, Justice, but declined further comment on the matter as he is yet to ascertain what transpired.

When contacted, the Acting Spokesperson of the Rivers State Police command, DSP Grace Iringe-Koko, said she would get back to our correspondent on the incident.

As at press time, the Azikiwe Divisional Police headquarters has evacuated the corpse.
