The Police Command in Anambra has declared 21 persons wanted for their alleged complicity in the abduction of Igwe Oliver Nnaji, the traditional ruler of Ogwuaniocha.
The police also said they were allegedly involved in the killing of two indigenes of the community in the Ogwuaniocha in Ogbaru Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s spokesperson Tochukwu Ikenga, in a statement on Wednesday, identified the two deceased as Anthony Nwanasor and Ikenna Ugochukwu.
Mr Ikenga said that the 21 suspects were declared wanted following police investigations into the death of the two members of the community and abduction of the traditional ruler.
“The Police in Anambra wishes to declare below persons `WANTED’ in the ongoing investigation of the alleged murder of the deceased and the abduction of the traditional ruler of Ogwuaniocha community,” the statement partly read.
He listed the names of the suspects as Okwudili Ogana,Chidi Ekpendu, Chukwunonso Udom, Amaechi Akachukwu, Emmanuel Ejiofor, Christian Udeze, Chikezie Onwuka(Osy Torture), Iweka Odogwu and Chimezie Okonkwo(Danger).
Others are, Onochie Nwabugwu aka (Young PG), Anayo Ubadi (Agunechimba),Chibueze Egwenu, Charles Obi, Aboy Udom, Chinedu Nwonani, Onyebuchi Umuna(Omeke),Ifeanyi Mbanugo(Acid), Sunday Osadebe, Nduba Chibuzor, Amechi Adama and Azuakonam Anyakodia.
The 71-year-old traditional ruler, Oliver Nnaji, was reportedly abducted from his palace on November 15, 2021.
