Kanu’s trial adjourned to February 16

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has granted February 16 for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, to challenge the competence of the terrorism charges against him.

The Judge fixed the date after turning down the request of the Federal Government to open the trial.

Kanu is asking the court to discharge and acquit him without standing trial in the heinous crime because the charges are incurably defective and has no force of law.

However, he has been returned to the detention facility of the Department of State Services (DSS) till the issue of his request for bail is resolved.
