Nigeria needs a president that likes money like Tinubu – Abe

Former Rivers South East Senator, Magnus Abe, has said Nigeria needs the National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, as president in 2023.

According to Abe, the country needs a man like Tinubu who “likes and understands money”.

He was reacting to the declaration of interest by the APC leader to contest for president.

Senator Abe made the comment during a media parley in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

The former lawmaker insisted that he remains a member and leader of the APC in Rivers State despite not taking part in the membership registration and revalidation of exercise of the party.

He recalled that he had raised some issues during the exercise leading to the setting up of a committee by the national leadership of the party which is yet to resolve the issues.

In his words; “The committee insisted that the revalidation exercise be carried out and everybody should be included, that is the position of the party.

“Now, that has not been done and because that has not been done the party issued a statement that the five states including Rivers State, that those who had not done the revalidation should take part even in the congresses.”

Senator Abe also noted that he was still consulting on his next political move ahead of the 2023 elections, adding that when that is done, he will make his decision known to the public.

He, however, vowed that the 2023 will not be the same as 2015 and 2019, stressing that things must be done differently for APC to come out victorious in the election.
