NPFL: Rivers Utd holds Niger Tornadoes in Ilorin

Rivers United played out a goalless draw against Niger Tornadoes in their week five game of the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL at Ilorin Sports Complex.

The draw means that Rivers United has garnered nine points in five matches to second on the log the NPFL table.

Niger Tornadoes are placed 14th on the log with five points from five matches.

Rivers United will next face Kwara United at the Adokiye Amaesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt on 16th January 2022.

In the meantime, Remo Stars continued their fine form in the league after beating Plateau United one-nil at the Oshogbo Township Stadium to maintain their top spot on the league table.

Remo Stars tops the league with 11 points from five matches.

In other Week five NPFL results, Lobi Stars defeated league champions Akwa United by one goal to nil at the Aper Aku Stadium, Makurdi.

Katsina United beat Gombe United two one at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Enyimba fc also pip Shooting Stars of Ibadan one nil in Aba.

At the Akure Township Stadium, Sunshine Stars thrashed Kano Pillars three-nil while Kwara United played out a one-all draw against Rangers fc.

MFM fc was also victorious as they edge Abia Warriors two one at the Agege Stadium while Heartland fc beat Wikki Tourists one-nil at the Okigwe Township Stadium.

Also, Dakkada FC defeated Nasarawa United two to one in Uyo.

The Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL will continue this weekend with matchday six matches.
