Emohua workers accuse Chidi LIoyd of paying PhD holders 25k monthly

Brave Dickson

Some concerned workers of the Emohua Local Government Council have accused the Chairman of the LGA, Chidi LIoyd of paying N25,000 as monthly salary to PhD holders of the council.

They said since LIoyd became the chairman of the council, workers on grade level eight had be demoted to grade level four without cogent reasons.

Emeka Chinwo who spoke with our correspondent on behalf of the concerned workers said the council chairman had refused to pay over 200 workers their salary since May this year till date.

“LIoyd first came up with biometrics, we did the biometrics and we were found blameless, but he insisted not to pay us since May till now.

“He has demoted those on grade level eight to grade level four and as I speak to you now, PhD holders are paid 25,000 naira monthly.

“Since Lloyd became the chairman of Emohua LGA; workers have been suffering for no good reason, “Chinwo said.

The concerned workers also berated the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) for not coming to their aid, saying that it seems NULGE has been bought over by LIoyd.

The workers also maintained that they will continue to seek for justice until they get it.
