The Ogoni Youth Federation (OYF) has inaugurated a 9-man committee to coordinate the activities of the forthcoming extraordinary Ogoni youth summit.
A statement signed by Michael Goodnews, the Special Assistant on Media to the President-General of OYF, said the committee was set up after due consultation with critical stakeholders.
According to him, members of the committee were drawn from the six kingdoms in Ogoniland.
The President-General of Ogoni Youth Federation, Yamaabana Legborsi, who spoke during the inauguration, charged the committee members to consult and invite all community youth-based organisations and critical youth stakeholders in all communities in Ogoni to the summit.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Committee, Mesua Ntormabari, thanked Ogoni youths for finding him and other committee members worthy of the task.
He promised to do all things necessary and incidental to actualise the duties conferred on the committee.
Other members of the committee include Boogbaa Sunday (Secretary), Moses Barine (Member), Evans Ue-bari (Member), Israel Gawa (Member), God knows Kpabee (Member), Samuel Obari Junior (Member), Albert I. Ikeh (Member), and Dornubari Asogho (Member).
