CAF fines Young Africans of Tanzania for insulting Rivers United officials

The Confederation of African Football CAF has upheld Rivers United’s protest against Young Africans of Tanzania.

According to a press release by CAF, the continental body received a complaint from Rivers United Club indicating that some of their officials were physically assaulted by the stewards at the stadium.

The Tanzanian side allegedly allowed spectators in its stadium for a match that was supposed to be played behind closed doors against Rivers United.

Following the aforementioned, CAF sent a complaint to Young Africans Club through Tanzania Football Federation. However, the club did not give a response to the football body.

Consequently, CAF Disciplinary Board decided to impose a financial sanction of $5,000 (Five Thousand US Dollars) against Young African (Tanzania) for the incidents which occurred during the match in question.

Also, Tanzania Football Federation was then requested to respect CAF regulations, guidelines, and directives.
