Youth raises alarm over threat to life by Etche Council Boss’ aide over assault pictures

NAWOJ condemns attack on Etche legislative leader by thugs loyal to council boss, Obinna Anyanwu


A youth, Gift J. Amadi who took pictures of the harassment of Mrs Cynthia Nwala, the leader of the Etche Legislative Assembly by thugs has alleged a threat to his life by an aide to the council boss.

Chinedu Onyeche, the Chief Security officer of the council chairman, Obinna Anyanwu had led thugs to assault the lawmaker, stripping her naked and smashing her car’s windows.

However, Amadi said that due to the attention drawn to the incident from the pictures he took, the Chief protocol officer to Anyanwu publicly pushed him and threatened to kill him for taking the photographs of Mrs Cynthia Nwala which went viral on social media.

According to Amadi, Messer Chinwe issued the threat in the following words: “Oboy you get mind snap that matter between Chino and Cynthia abi? You dey this council dey write against the Chairman and Chino abi? If I see you around this council again I will personally kill you, get lost immediately”

Amadi, while in a SOS message said “I am writing this to avoid “WHY DIDN’T YOU SPEAK UP ON TIME?” I seek attention from all well-meaning Nigerians, Nde Etche, law enforcement agencies, Rivers State Government, The Judiciary, Nde Igboh Agwuru Asa and Umuanyagu Urban to look into this matter before it will be too late, I don’t know the plans of these people. Help me ask Hon. Chinwe Cyril wetin I do am”
