Scores have lost their lives following a jetty mishap in Isaka, Okrika Local Government Area of Rivers State on Sunday.
It was gathered that the jetty collapsed following overcrowding by commuters, who were in the town for burial.
The accident plunged an undisclosed number of people into the water as local divers scrambled to rescue the victim
Speaking with journalists, a special assistant to the Okirika Local Government Chairman confirmed the incident.
Reports, however, reveal that residents have complained about the deteriorating condition of the jetty but no solution was provided by the government.
