Conductor pushes passenger out of moving bus in Port Harcourt

An elderly man identified as Tedus Ohawen from Imo State has been crushed to death on 1st October, 2021, by the commercial bus he boarded following arguments over fifty naira change.

An eyewitness who spoke to our correspondent narrated that the argument was because of fifty naira leading to the passenger being pushed to his death.

Chief Security Officer of Diobu vigilante, Mile 3 unit, Godstime Ihunwo, told our correspondent, that the passenger, Tedus Ohawen was arguing with the driver and conductor when he was pushed out of the vehicle and the bus driver ran over him which resulted to his death, at Wobo Street, Diobu, Port Harcourt.

Ihunwo explained that the conductor and driver immediately fled the scene of crime, noting that the bus driver was later apprehended at Mile 1, but is presently being detained at Mile 3 Police station.

The Youth President of Rumuelechi Community, Okpara Christain, said officers of the Police have been able to restored normalcy in the area.

Our correspondent reports that at the time of visit to the scene, officers of Nkpolu Divisional Police headquarters and other senior officers were on ground to forestall any breakdown of law and order.
