Tina Amanda

A Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has awarded the sum of fifty million naira to Ifeanyi Onyekwere, one of the Ikoku four victims tortured by the operatives of the now-disbanded E-Crack Squad of the Rivers State police command.

Ifeanyi Onyekwere had gone to court to enforce his fundamental human rights from the torture and brutality meted to him and colleagues by officers of Police, which led to the death of Chima Ikwunado.

However, the four dismissed police officers that allegedly tortured the IKoku four are currently undergoing trial at a High Court in Rivers State.

In an interview with our correspondent, Ifeanyi Onyekwere expressed happiness that the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt ruled in his favour and awarded him the sum of fifty (N50) million naira.

“Today they gave judgement in my favour, I am very happy for the judgement I got, the Court has been on this matter since 2019 till date.

The Judiciary has proven to be the voice of the common man, they should keep it up”.
