A man suspected to be a ‘Yahoo boy’ has been arrested by men of the Bayelsa State Police Command over an alleged failed attempt to use his girlfriend for rituals.
It was gathered that the suspect was caught in the act of trying to behead the victim along SETRACO Road, Amassoma/Ogobiri axis of the state on Tuesday morning.
The suspect had lured his victim to Setraco Road along Ogobiri-Toruebeni drive, and after he had succeeded in tying her hands and legs, was at the verge of cutting her neck when some youths, who traced his earlier movements through a revelation from a passerby, foiled the attempt.
The victim, a student of the Niger Delta University Wilberforce Island (NDU) was rescued by youths of Ogobiri community and men of the Nigerian Police Force.
While his motive is yet unknown, the suspect has since been placed in Police custody for further investigations.
