Kalabari youths move to apprehend kidnappers of LCC expatriate

Brave Dickson

The youths of Kalabari ethnic nationality in Rivers State have synergized with neighboring ethnicities and security agencies to apprehend the kidnappers of an expatriate working with the Lubrik Construction Company LTD, (LCC).

The victim is one of the workers of the company handling the Trans- Kalabari-Road recently awarded by the state government.

It was gathered that the kidnappers numbering 10 ambushed their victim along Kalabari/Emohua Road.

After some minutes of gunfire exchange with the security personnel guarding the victim, the hoodlums successfully whisked the expatriate away.

In an interview with the newly elected chairman of IYC Kalabari Clan, Edward Asikitams, the youths insisted that the hoodlums will be apprehended by any means necessary.

“We condemn the kidnap of the expatriate and we describe the act as barbaric and wicked.

“However, we will not fold our arms and watch such wickedness to cause disaffection between we and our neighbours.

“Rather, we are going to use any means necessary to apprehend the kidnappers and we are using this medium to tell the kidnappers to release the expatriate unconditionally and unhurt now.

“We have begun a synergy with our ethnic neighbors as well as the security agencies to apprehend the kidnappers, “Asikitams said

Our correspondent who could not ascertain the name of the kidnapped expatriate as at the time of filing this report also learnt that the gun duel injured some of the security agents guarding the victim.
