EFCC nabs 11 Suspected Internet fraudsters in Port Harcourt

The Port Harcourt Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said its operatives have arrested 11 suspected Internet fraudsters in Ozuoba, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

In a statement by the agency’s Head of Media and Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, on Thursday, said the suspects were nabbed in an early morning sting operation.

Uwujaren said the suspects were arrested after a verified intelligence on their suspicious Internet-related criminal activities.

Items recovered during the raid include a Lexus SUV, laptops, television sets, mobile phones, ATM cards among others.

“They were arrested through surveillance and verified intelligence on their suspicious Internet-related criminal activities.

“Items recovered from them included one wine-colored Lexus ES 350 car, six Plasma TV sets, three laptops, 10 mobile phones of different brands, one LG Home Theatre, one black, and red speaker, one Hisense Speaker, one Hisense Sound Bar, five Automated Teller Machine cards of different banks and two Apple wristwatches.

“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded,” he added.
