Unknown gunmen murder Anglican priest in Imo State

Unknown Gunmen have killed an Anglican Priest, Emeka Merenụ, while his vehicle was also set ablaze at Orsu Iheteukwa, in Orsu local government area of Imo State.

Meru hails from Amorji Agbomiri village in Nkwerre local government area of Imo state.

Obinna Okwara, the House of Assembly Member representing Nkwerre local government area of Imo state said Reverend Merenu was killed in his home on Tuesday over allegations at that he brought soldiers to secure his church and secondary school under his supervision.

Michael Abattam, the public relations officer of the Imo State Command confirmed the development,said investigations have been launched into the murder.

He also promised that the command will not relent until criminal elements are chased out of the state.
