Former Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency, Dakuku Peterside has commended the seamless conduct of the All Progressives Congress local government congresses across the state on Saturday.
Peterside, who took part in the exercise in his local government area of Opobo/Nkoro, also commended the party faithful for their maturity and patience in electing their grassroots leaders in a friendly atmosphere.
The former Governorship candidate of the APC in 2015 further noted that he got reports from other LGAs in the state about the peaceful nature of the exercise.
Peterside said, “This is another progress being made by the party in the state. Recall that we had recently elected our ward leaders, who have been subsequently inaugurated and have been discharging their duties.
“The successful conduct of the local government congresses on Saturday signifies another march towards taking over the state in 2023 and offer Rivers people what is responsible governance.”
The former NIMASA D.G appealed to APC members to come together and build a united front that will dislodge the Peoples Democratic Party in the State.
He said Rivers people were already fed up with Governor Nyesom Wike’s lack of accountability, non-employment of Rivers youth, and lack of provision of seed funds to promote small/medium scale businesses”.
