Brave Dickson

Some villagers of Uegwere Boue community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State have accused the Bori Divisional Police Officer, Angbashim Bako of knowing where the alleged kidnapping camp of ex militant, Solomon Ndigbara is.

Some women of the community, Leesi Barika and Donubari Gbenenu told our correspondent that the Bori DPO had visited the kidnapping camp of Ndigbara severally which they said is on their farmland but refused to destroy the camp.

They said, “the kidnapping camp of Solomon Ndigbara is on our farmland.

“The criminals in that camp keep raping and robbing us daily to deter us from farming on the land. They don’t want us to know the crimes they are perpetrating in that camp.

“The Bori DPO has come severally with his men to the camp, met Ndigbara’s boys with rifles in the camp but made no arrest.”

Another community member and former Community Development Committee Chairman, Ipianeh Godspower called for the immediate transfer of the DPO, alleging that Bako has a relationship with Ndigbara.

“I don’t know why the police authority has not transferred Bako from Bori police station despite the fact that his security compromise is obvious.

“Our people are being killed like chicken by Ndigbara’s boys and the Bako led police have not made any arrest, “Godspower said.

The community dwellers also named over 19 persons allegedly killed In their community by Ndigbara as Dornu Adookorn, Boy Side, Lucky Eeloo, Bari-eeba Dirnu, Barikpe Iyieh, Prince Kibani, Zorbari Beteh, Tambari Igbaranwii and Kingdom Johngbo.

Others were: Eb-babari Gbodorn, Baridabdoo Kordoo, Mbeabari Gbarato, Kabari Kagbara, Neetorbari Bataloo, Nugbara Atekuru Nyorma, Barilugbene Atornu Neka, Bornalo Barineka Uegbo Ikara, Gbenegbara, Nwiineebee and Gbenenee Tornwini, respectively.

Efforts to reach the DPO for comments proved abortive as his phone line was not connecting.
