Rivers Hockey Team held by Bauchi State at National Hockey Championships

Team Rivers Hockey male Team failed to make chances pay as they were held by Bauchi 1-1 on matchday two of the 2021 Mabisel National Hockey Championship in Rivers State.

Team Rivers went into the match on Sunday, June 20th, 2021 with a high moral following their 4-1 triumph over Bayelsa on matchday one but a late strike from team Bauchi dented the chances of Coach Collins Iheany’s tutored side from making it two wins out of two.

Coach Collins said afterward that hard-luck played a role in their draw but looks ahead of their next game against Lagos today.

On his part coach of Bauchi Yakubu Babayo was elated with the performance of his team.

Meanwhile, team Lagos were the heavy losers on matchday two as they were hammered 4-1 by team Kaduna.

Afterward, the coach Kaduna, Ndana Abdullahi expressed delight over the big win.

In the female event, Team Edo played out a 1-1 draw with Team Kaduna.

Meantime, matchday three continues today, Monday, June 21, 2021, at the Hockey pitch of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Sports Complex in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Team Rivers Girls will face Team Edo at 8:30AM in the early kickoff.

Elsewhere, Bauchi male will engage Bayelsa at 10.00am while at 11:30AM Kaduna ladies will await Lagos as Team will Rivers male will battle Team Lagos at 1pm.
