Group accuses Okorocha, Nwosu of Gulak’s murder

A Non-partisan political advocacy group, Imo Democracy Advocate has tasked the Department of State Service (DSS) to arrest Senator Rochas Okorocha, his son-in-law, Uche Nwosu and Okorocha’s political associate, Kingsley Uju over the death of APC chieftain, Ahmed Gulak.

The group, in a statement signed by its National Secretary, John Chike Igwe and National Publicity Secretary, Sir Teddy Nzenwa, condemned the assassination of Gulak while expressing that it was convinced that his murder was political.

They urged for the immediate arrest of Sen. Rochas Okorocha, Chief Uche Nwosu and political associate, Hon. Kingsley Uju, who they believe, is in control of a gang of terrorists based in Egbema community, whose members were granted amnesty by Okorocha when he was Governor of the State.

Part of the statement read:

“It must be recalled that a few days ago security agents bursted a base of these terrorists at Assah Egbema, killed two of them while many others escaped with their ammunitions.

“It must also be recalled that Okorocha met late Ahmed Gulak two weeks ago in Abuja and threatened him that he will never forgive him for the role Gulak played in the last Imo APC Governorship Primaries that returned Hope Uzodinma as Governorship Candidate instead of his son-in-law Uche Nwosu.

“Okorocha claimed that if Gulak had not helped Uzodinma he would not have become Governor of Imo state and be recovering his family properties acquired during his tenure as governor in the guise of implementing a Gazette.

“It was the same Okorocha who told both the Senate President and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to postpone the Senate public hearing on the amendment of the Constitution for South-East scheduled for Owerri as he could not guarantee the peace of the visitors in Owerri as if Okorocha is the Governor of Imo State.

“It was the same Okorocha that said he paid 500 million naira to terrorists during his tenure to maintain peace and Governor Hope Uzodinma is unwilling to settle the boys hence the attacks.

“We are convinced that killing Gulak is aimed at revenging the political loss he caused Okorocha and his family succession plot.

“It is also aimed at causing disaffection between the North and East so that Governor Uzodinma will be seen in a bad light by the national Government and Party Leadership.

“It is only when these men are arrested for questioning that the terrorism in the state will be fully abated”.

Recall that Gov. Hope Uzodinma during a press conference on Monday had said that the murder of Ahmed Gulak has political handwritings on it, exonerating IPOB members, formerly accused by the Police.
