Gunmen kill seven police officers in Rivers State

Unknown gunmen have killed no less than seven police officers in Rivers State.

This is despite a night-time curfew imposed on the the state by Governor Nyesom Wike.

The gunmen attacked the Rumuji police station in Emohua Local Government Area, shooting one officer dead and beheading another.

They also attacked a C4i checkpoint along the East-West road before Choba Bridge, killing two officers on duty.

Meanwhile, another set of gunmen attacked the Elimgbu police station in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, where one ASP and two inspectors were killed.

Nnamdi Omoni, the public relations officer of the state command did not immediately respond to inquiries for comment.
