Unknown gunmen have attacked a checkpoint of the Nigerian Navy along Onitsha-Owerri Road close to Enamel.
Eyewitnesses said the heavy gunshots sent residents of the area scampering for safety.
Casualty figures is yet to be verified as at the time of filing this report but sources said two naval officers were killed.
Recall that an attack at the checkpoint in February led to the death of a naval rating.
