Rainstorm wrecks havoc in Imo, kills three

There was commotion in Obinze, Owerri West LGA of Imo State, yesterday, as rainstorm hit the area, leaving three people dead and buildings destroyed.

It was gathered that, strong winds had hit the area, causing the destruction of two church buildings, a brewery depot, uprooted about thirtu five electricity poles and left about three persons dead.

A village source disclosed that the incident which happened along the Obinze-Umuokanne road, left no fewer than twelve persons wounded and three lives lost, the Punch reports.

Residents of the area also disclosed that, the winds had left them frightened, adding that the aftermath was a huge loss.
