Nigerian Correctional Service releases faces of escaped inmates

The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) today, released names and pictures of 36 inmates, who escaped from its facility in owerri on Monday.

About 1,800 inmates reportedly escaped, after the facility was attacked by unknown gunmen.The service released the names and photographs on its official twitter handle.

Information released read thus:

“Faces of persons who escaped from Owerri Custodial Centre, Imo State.

Please note that more photographs of the Escapees on the way and efforts are on to get clear pictures for the black spaces.”

While there are claims that some inmates voluntarily returned, about 48 were said to have been recaptured.
