Two persons have been shot dead in Port Harcourt by unknown gunmen.
The incident which occurred at Victoria Street, by Ben Harry Hotel, and Benham Street on Aggrey Road late night on Wednesday sent panicky residents scampering for safety.
One of the victims was identified as Oga Dike, a popular businessman in the area.
Residents who spoke to theportcitynews said the shooting lasted for over two hours, though they could not say the reason behind the shooting.
According to them, the area has experienced increasing cases of kidnapping in recent months.
They, however, said a team of police officers were later drafted to the area to maintain peace.
Meanwhile, there was another round of shootout at the Agip junction area of Port Harcourt.
Sources, however, blamed the shooting on suspected cultists who disagreed over levies.
