BBNaija’s Mike Edwards to represent Team Rivers

Ex-BBNaija star, Mike Edwards, is set to represent Team Rivers in the men’s high jump at the 20th National Sports Festival currently holding in Benin city, Edo State.

In a chat with reporters yesterday, the Permanent Secretary of Rivers State Ministry of Sports, Honor Sirawoo, said the state was ready to secure the title.

He revealed that Edwards will be the representing the State at this year’s festival and there are high expectations for him to defend the title won during the last festival in Abuja.

The National Sports festival which kicked off yesterday, Tuesday, April 6, with a colorful opening ceremony, recieved contingents from states across the federation.

The ceremony held at the newly reconstructed Samuel Ogbemudia Sports Complex in Benin City, Edo State.

The Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his Delta State counterpart, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, were in attendance.

The Sports Festival is slated to hold in several venues across Benin City, from 2nd – 14th of April, 2021.
